At the beginning I was a little anxious about bringing a non family member into deliberations important to Spelunker's welfare. But the transition with you coming on board was seamless. You were the perfect point person for handling our concerns and those of the construction contractors...If we need an architect, you'd be our first call. You're guidance through this [construction management] project has been indispensable." - Spelunker's Ownership

Initially, our work with Spelunker's focused on designing an outdoor patio to provide additional seating for the restaurant, which had seen significant growth since its opening in 2004. The 2020 pandemic altered the project’s goals, as the restaurant adopted a drive-through-focused business model.

To accommodate the increased demand and traffic, a civil engineer was hired to redesign the parking lot and the drive-through. This redesign improved traffic flow and added 30 overflow parking spaces across the street to further meet the growing needs.

The project was expanded to include enhanced signage, a larger walk-in refrigerator, and a beautifully simple canopy over the drive-through. The new canopy offered greater comfort and protection for both the staff and customers using the drive-through.

Throughout the year-long construction process, architect Leesa Mayfield served as a communication liaison between the owner and the builder, alleviating the owner’s stress and helping to ensure a successful project outcome.

Are you thinking about starting a project? We’d love to make your dream a reality while saving you time, money, and sanity.
